Fieldwork Time!

Today was our first day of teaching Social Studies to the 5th grade students at Bishop Dunn.  The first group to go was Angela, Faith, and Meagan.  What a fantastic job they did!

Group 1 taught their direct instruction lesson plan on the voyages of Christopher Columbus

This group did a great job of engaging the students and making the lesson fun and exciting for them.  They asked many great questions to assess prior knowledge and check for understanding.

Faith, Angela, and Meagan all took turns teaching different parts of the lesson.  They were all clear and confident in the material they were teaching.  These ladies will make great teachers one day!  They also played a vortex smart board game with the students which they loved!  They ended the unit with a Jeopardy game on the smart board.  What a great idea to see what the students learned during the lesson.
