Group #2's Turn!

Next to teach was Group 2 (also known as Gina & Jesse).  They also taught a direct lesson plan.  Their chapter was on the Aztecs and what happens when two worlds collide.
 

Gina began the lesson and grabbed the student's attention immediately.  She involved them in every part of the lesson by asking relevant questions to the topic she was teaching.  She also did a great recap of Columbus to make sure the students saw the connection between the lessons.



Gina also did a great job focusing the student's attention back on her when they got too excited and noisy.  "Eyes on me" really reined them back in.


I thought it was a great idea for Gina to tell the students that she called the Aztec city of Technolitan "The Big T" since it was so hard to pronounce.  That really showed the students that some words can even be hard for teachers to pronounce.


Next it was Jesse's turn to teach.  Unfortunately she started her part of the lesson with a video.  The video presentation coincided exactly with the teacher closing the blinds, so the students missed the entire video.
